Bits to Symphony

How we work

Where our facts come from

Every page is compiled from published sources we have opened and read: official composer and studio websites, concert hall and orchestra listings, publisher credits, archived interviews, reputable music journalism and academic writing on game audio. Those sources are listed at the foot of each page with the date the page was last checked.

What we do not claim

We describe music and history; we do not claim to have run experiments or reviews. Where a page offers an opinion on why a score matters, it is labelled as our editorial view rather than presented as fact. We do not invent quotes, testimonials, reviews, ratings or statistics, and we do not attribute words to composers unless the quote appears in a published source we cite.

Dates and concerts

Concert information goes out of date quickly. On the live page we only describe recurring series and venues from their official sites, and we always point you to the organiser for current dates and tickets. We never sell tickets or link to resale sites.

The Layer Mixer and other demos

Interactive audio on this site is original: the Layer Mixer loop was written for Bitstosymphony and is generated in your browser from simple oscillators and noise. It does not reproduce any melody from any game.

Corrections

If something is wrong or out of date, email [email protected] with the page address and, if you can, a source. We aim to review corrections within a few working days and update the “last checked” date when a page changes.
