Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to read and use this site. It aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at level AA.
What we have done
- Pages use proper headings, landmarks and a skip link, and every control can be reached and used with a keyboard.
- Text is set at a comfortable size with strong contrast against the dark background.
- Motion is reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Every image has a text description.
- The timeline can be scrolled with the arrow buttons, the year rail or the arrow keys once focused.
The Layer Mixer
The audio demo never starts on its own. It starts only when you press Play or a state button, can be stopped at any time with the Stop sound button or the Escape key, and stops automatically if you switch tabs. Each change is announced in text for screen reader users.
Known limitations
The level meters in the Layer Mixer are visual only; the text status line describes what is playing instead.
